This course is Skillsfuture Singapore (SSG) approved for funding of course fees for company sponsored eligible Singapore citizens and permanent residents. The funding approval code is TGS-2023040683. We will check with SSG and assist companies for their funding of course fees. If you want to submit a claim for absentee payroll funding of eligible trainees, your company will have to do it online via the Skillsfuture website www.skillsfuture.gov.sg

Personnel Responsible for Handling Cargo in a Warehouse, Loading and Unloading Unit Load Devices and Loading and Unloading Aircraft Cargo Compartments (7.4)

Course Objective

At the end of the course, participants must be competent to perform tasks aimed at handling cargo in a warehouse, loading and unloading unit load devices and loading and unloading passenger baggage and aircraft cargo compartments according to the ICAO Technical Instructions For The Safe Transport  Of Dangerous Goods By Air & the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.

1. Understanding the basics of dangerous goods
Dangerous goods applicability
Understanding the general limitations
Identifying roles and responsibilities
Understanding the importance of classification and packaging
Understanding hazard communication
Familiarising with basic emergency response

2. Managing cargo pre-loading 
Plan the load
Prepare load for aircraft

3. Transporting cargo/baggage
Load aircraft
Unload aircraft

4. Collecting safety data.

Assessment

A written assessment will be conducted at the end of the course. All successful participants will receive an IATA certificate that is valid for 24 months.
